Rev. Dr. Dave Caron, OP
Dominican Friar of the Southern Province of St. Martin de Porres
Ordained in May 1989
Ministered in a variety of parochial and special assignments, including that of the Director of Mission and Ministry at Barry University, Miami Florida, in 1998. Fr. Caron has served as a liturgical consultant resource for parishes and dioceses, has taught classes and conducted workshops throughout the country on various topics related to the liturgical renewal.
Educational Background
Holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Liturgy from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago where the topic of his thesis-project was Liturgy as Pastoral Care for Those with HIV / AIDS.

Current Additional Leadership
He is employed at Barry University and is the Director of the Center for Dominican Studies and is an adjunct professor for the Department of Philosophy and Theology. Fr. Dave produces a spirituality television program on WXEL, a south Florida PBS station, called “Pathways of Possibilities.”
Past Leadership
Fr. Dave relocated from St. Louis, MO where he was a faculty member at both The Aquinas Institute, the Dominican Graduate School of Theology and St. Louis University’s Theology Department. While in St. Louis, he taught several preaching courses to the deacons of the Archdiocese. Fr. Dave edited a children’s book, Dear God, I’m Sick: Prayers for Sick Children by Children and has co-authored a marriage preparation book entitled PrePAIRS: A Guide to Catholic Marriage. He has written two articles for Liturgical Ministry Magazine: “Towards A Celebratory Environment” (vol.11, Summer 2002) and “A Ritual Response to Church Closures: A Pastoral Challenge” (vol. 14, Winter 2005). He is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Aquinas Center, Emory University, Atlanta, a member of the Knights of the Equestrian Order Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, and is a chaplain to the Order of Malta.
